Adam and his friend Jason trained for 3 months together and did the salem triathlon. I am so proud of Adam, he is one amazing and determined person. When most of us were sleeping at wee hours of the morning, Jason and Adam kicked their butts in gear to be in enough shape to Swim-1/2 m, Bike-15 m, and Run-3.5 m.
Adam was exhausted when he was done, but was also pleased with his performance. He listened to the "Rocky" soundtrack as he ran through the finish line.
I was working out regularly, but definately was not trained for the whole thing. My sister Mary was signed up to do the whole triathlon, but injured her knee when training. We decided to make it a "JACS sister" team and do the race together. We were sad Liz could not be there, but we devoted that race to her. Mary swam, I biked and Amy Ran for the victory. Our times were not something to brag about, but man was it fun to be out there trying something new as sisters. I am determined to do the whole triathlon next year, you wait and see.:)
