March 2012

MARCH 2012
Olivia is 2 yrs and 1 month old
My name is Olivia and I have a personality that is pretty special.  I love to give my mom and Dad "Big hugs" everyday and snuggle with them at night.  I go around the house singing all day long, my favorite songs are: Twinkle Twinkle, Daddy's Homecoming, Family (I love song), ABC song, I love to see the Temple, I am a child of God, I feel my Savoir's Love, Head shoulders knees and toes!  I like to swim, play at the park, color in my Dora coloring book, do puzzles, and read books.  I love princesses and am now getting familiar with all my favorite Disney princesses.  I dance around on my tippy toes and act like a ballerina and LOVE to watch "Baby Einstein" and Dora.

WEEKLY SWIMMING CLASS
I now can jump off the diving board and float to back by myself.  I can pick up rings under the water and come up with them.  I can swim on my tummy then when I need air I turn to my back and float.  I love my swimming teacher Pam and jump in and give her a hug every time I go.  I like after the swimming class, because I get stamps on my hands and my Mommy takes me out to get ice cream!

Snuggle time in Mommy's bed.  Every night Olivia asks to snuggle in mommy's bed.  She loves it and we sing and just snuggle under the covers.

This was prego me at 31 wks : )

POTTY TRAINING
I started potty training this week, which has been quite exhausting to say the least.  She has been going number 2 in the toilet for quite sometime, but I decided I did not want 2 babies in daipers in 2 months, so I went for it.  Adam went out of town and Olivia and I had potty training weekend with her new dora panties.
Things to remember:
-She loves us to sit on the floor and watch her go.
-I like the potty seat that goes on a normal toilet
-Books (especially potty books) help while she is sitting there
-day 1-give lots of  fluids and sit on toilet every 20 minutes until afternoon then have it get longer from there.
-when out and about- put panties on then a pull-up over
-Ask all the time, "Are you clean and dry"
- have treats or rewards after, but mostly get excited and compliment them

Day 1-thu- hard day she had 3-4 accidents, but she is trying to figure it out.  We got her dora panties and she loves them. Her first accident she said she "Spilled" it was almost as if she was blaming it on her sippy cup she was holding in her hand, she is too smart.  She is trying to figure out the urge to go, but by the middle of the day, she did not want to go every 20 minutes, it was too soon.  I did start crying today and it was so cute and sweet that Olivia looked at me and said, "Sorry mama"... and gave me a great big hug.  I need to have a little more patience.
Day 2-fri- This has been hard, but today she did really good.  I started telling her that it makes dora sad when she goes pee on her, and she proclaimed right back to me,"sorry dorda, sorry!" She is so sweet... We hung up the picture of dora and she loves to go in and say Hi to dora when she sits on the potty.  She had no accidents until we went to target for too long and she was with cannon in the cart.  She even did well when we were at lunch with friends.  We really try to make it a big deal after each time she goes and she will usually announce it to anyone that is willing to listen as well.
Day 3-sat- Hard day
Day 4-sun- she did great and had no accidents today.  We even had little logan's blessing and was at Liz and Adam's house most of the day.  We did go see there new house at 8 pm and she did have an accident, but mostly because she got scared and started crying.  Overall today was a successful day.
Day 5-Tue-Today Olivia has done great with only her panties on all day until we went to swimming class.  I ask her if she can go in the potty and if she will show me and she pronounces, "YES momma"  She really is a good girl and tries so hard.  Painting nails while on the potty has helped her stay patient until the pee comes out.

She would get a bath when she went her pants,
maybe not the best idea... because she LOVES BATHS!!

Overall Olivia did so good with potty training and we got to almost only 1 accident a day.  But I was then hospitalized and she regressed from there. So as of now she will tell us when she wants to go, but I have put her back in diapers and have not tried to push her back into it and we will try again in Oregon.

FUN TIMES!!!

Mommy was put on bed-rest at the end of March and so Daddy decided to put up some toys for Olivia to play with so I could stay down as much as possible. Olivia loves her sport court play set!!

Pregnant:)

We found out we were pregnant in august and we have been ecstatic ever since.  I started getting sick earlier this time and was nauseated and throwing up at 4 1/2 wks, which is only less then one week after we found out.  I had to get fluids 2-3 times this pregnany and I feel like the throwing up got to where my body was in a cycle.  I would throw up 7-10 times a day, but most of the time at night, the same it was like with Olivia.  I started taking zofran and famotidine and then started vit b complex.  The vitamins helped out a little, but I think the key this pregnancy was the prevacid I started later on, once I started taking them my throwing up dramatically slowed down and eventually stopped around 25 wks.
It was really hard taking care of Olivia while I was throwing up, but at the same time I felt blessed to have this precious child in my belly.  It is definitely an amazing thing and I am grateful I am able to get pregnant and have healthy babies.  It definitely is the hardest thing physicically and emotionally for me, but I know it has a great reward in the end.... a gorgeous baby from our Heavenly Father.
Olivia started saying baby, but I don't think she realized a baby was in there until the sonogram and when my belly started growing.  She now kisses my belly everyday and wants to say "hi" to the baby.  She will be such an amazing big sister!  We found out it was a girl at my work.  I had the ultrasound tech come down and the nurses and doc were all gathered around as they checked to see what it was.  I didn't want to find out without Adam so I closed my eyes as she wrote the results on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope.  I called Adam as soon as we did it and told him to come over so we could open the envelope together.  He came over, but I soon found out my co-workers played a trick on us.  They had written lots of different results and put them in multiple different envelopes.  I warned Adam we didn't know which one was the right envelope, but he was a excited when we saw "boy" written on the paper.  We then found out that it was the wrong envelope and it was definitely going to be a girl.  We were surprised, but he definitely was excited about adding another little girl to our family.
Adam is such an amazing dad to Olivia and I know it won't change for the next one.  He is always having daddy-daughter dates and spending such quality time with Olivia.  She loves how he reads lots of books to her at night and sings to her, even when he forgets the words, and gives her juice when she is in bed and not supposed to have it.... In other words, Daddy is the best in a daughter's eyes, especially Olivia!!
I am now 28 wks and feeling pretty good with the nausea, but I am started to have quite a lot of contractions.  One day I had them all day then I was woken up in the middle of the night with low back pain, it scared me quite a bit, so I tried to stay low that weekend and they went away.  I have them a lot at work, but I have to keep working so that we can stay on my insurance for the baby.  At the end of my long 12 hr shifts, I get contractions from even standing up or walking 5 feet.  It worries me, but I am trying to rest on the days I do not work..... which is definitely hard when you have a 2 yr old.  Adam is the most supportive husband and is always cleaning the house and telling me I need to rest and watch a movie.  I sometimes feel so spoiled to be married to such a caring and compassionate person, I am so lucky!!!
I have seen a lot of sad things regarding pregnancy at work recently and I have started to build some fears.  My biggest fear is that this cute little baby will come too early, so I am hoping and praying that does not happen.  We like the name Asia. I think it will be a great tribute to her daddy, who served a honorable mission to Taiwan and who fell in love with the culture and people there.
