St. George

We went to St. George with our good friends this last weekend. We had some sunny days to days where the boys tried to golf while they were being pelted by hail. Adam and I went to part of the sunshine tournament and watched some killer highschool baseball. It was nice to get out of the house and have a little change of pace. Here are some fun snap shots from the trip:


Livy was a great baby on her first road trip. She smiled a lot and had a fun time playing with little Eva, which is our friends little girl.

They had a blast putting this rocket together, but did not expect that after the launch it would get stuck in the power line, they were pretty bummed. The bright side is everytime we go to St. george we will be able to see it, sorry boys!


The weather got a little stormy so we decided to go bowling. Boys against girls, and you guessed it the girls rocked it!



We decided we could use some fun relaxing time so we headed off to the spa, while the boys tended the kids, Thanks Adam the massage was heavenly.


Adam is the best dad anyone could wish for. He is a constant help with Livy even if it is in the middle of the night. Livy and I are lucky to have him!

Olivia is 1 month old!

Wow, time has gone by so fast and Livy is already 1 month old. We have grown a lot emotionally and Livy has grown a lot physically this month. Livy is now 10 lbs 10 ounces and has rolls pretty much everywhere to prove it. She has grown out of her newborn clothes & diapers. This month has been a very fun one, but also very exhausting. I have learned a lot as a mom already and I love being with Livy everyday. She is truly one special little girl and I feel so lucky to be able to be her mom. She smiled at Adam this last week and brought tears to his eyes, I can already tell she will be able to get away with a lot with her Daddy... From snuggling with her at 3 am to singing to her at 1 in the afternoon I have loved every bit about being a mom! It is a lot of work, but I think being a mom is the best job ever and I feel privileged to be Livy's.

Olivia's first week here!

Livy has been a joy since she arrived and has opened our eyes as parents. Adam and I did not know there could be so much love for one person. Every second we feel so blessed to have this angel in our home and to be able to hold her. With the joy also comes the adjustment as well. Livy and I are trying to figure each other out. The slogan for my life at this point is "lots of love, but not a lot of sleep." I know it will get better, but that being said this is still the best experience of my life.

She has been feeding well, but like a Jacobson she wants her food right away and likes to inhale it. From this she has a lot of air bubbles, which makes her very uncomfortable at times. She is now getting a little more scheduled with feeding and sleeping, but I am still hoping for some improvement. She loves her tongue and at times she soothes herself back to sleep by sucking on it like a pacifier. She keeps both Adam and I entertained by her funny looks she gives when she is sleeping. She also takes after Adam in the fact that when she is sleeping she is out for the count, I call it the "milk stupor." Beautiful Olivia Arrives!

We had a day of magic yesterday and our cute little Livy decided to come. It all started at 1 am, when I woke up with really strong contractions. I had my membranes stripped on Monday and was dilated to 3 cm & 90% effaced up until this point. Adam and I both knew it would only be one set of contractions to put me into labor. I have been going through pre-labor the last 3 weeks, so I knew what the contractions felt like, but only these were harder and more intense. Adam started timing the contractions and they were about 3-5 mins apart lasting about 1 min. These contractions lasted like this for about 1 hr then they got worse and came faster.

We finally decided to go to the hospital about 3 am and they were coming hard and fierce. I tried to walk into the hospital, but ended up walking in then using a wheelchair for the rest. My nurse was a friend that I went to school with and she said I was dilated to a 5-6. I received 2 doses of antibiotic for strep B and then finally got the Epidural. I progressed like clock work and changed every hour. 7 am I was dilated to an 8, then at 8 am I was completed at a 10. The Doctor wanted to wait for an hour until she dropped more. I pushed for about 1 hr and doctor arrived and baby came 5 mins later after 2 contractions, being delivered at 1057 am. During Labor Adam did an amazing job with holding my leg and assisting the nurse. The best were his comments during the delivery. When I first started pushing during a contraction and he spurted out, "There is no way that is coming out of you" we were laughing so hard.

We jammed out during the delivery to some pump up music from pandora. We thought Livy would enjoy coming here with some rhythm. It was nice to have Liz and mom in for the delivery, they helped out every step of the way. They even helped Adam calm down and switch out when he got a little weasy.

She came with lots of dark hair and looks as beautiful as can be. We feel so blessed to have had this go so fast and well. Adam and I could not be happier with this little angel now ours. She weighed 7 lbs 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. Here are some pictures of the wonderful adventure.

Waiting for Olivia!

This pregnancy has been definately an experience I will never forget. We were so grateful when we found out we were pregnant, and are even more grateful now knowing this beautiful spirit will enter our home soon. After much speculation about when this little cutie will come, Adam and I decided that Livy will come when she is ready. I get emotional thinking about where Livy is coming from and who she is leaving. Imagine who she is saying goodbye to! Here is a little review of my pregnancy, the good and the bad!

It started out with the sickness and the wonderful days of dry-heaving in garbage cans next to patient's beds. I'd find myself running to the bathroom & hoping to make it, so I didn't look like a patient instead of a nurse. The best was Adam's sympathy symptoms of throwing up after being with me during my ordeal...He has been an amazing hubby through this.
12 wks14 wks17 wks22 wksOur cruise was a blast and this was my last week of regular throwing up... Yes, who would of thought the 24th week would have been the week that I would feel amazing.

I loved working out and eating whatever I wanted at this stage. When I worked out, I felt so much better and I had a lot of energy. This is when the cravings started. Here is a small list of the things I loved: avacodo, orange juice, waffles, french toast, minestrone soup, and lots of fruit!

35 wks- this is when I had a patient who asked me if I was having twins, or if I was the Octo-mom! I wish people had common sense...Nesting at 36 wks37 wks- Absentmindedness really set in this week. I tried to wash my hands when I had gloves on... I even put on my temple dress backwards at the temple and a worker had to point it out to me, because I didn't even notice. Not to mention, I am big and I fell out of my chair at work--and yes, a doctor even noticed. I felt so embarrassed!I did some lay-ups at Adam's last basketball game and shot a few shots--did ok--but gravity is definately different when you are pregnant. I also kept hitting my belly with the basketball when I would dribble, I bet Adam was embarrassed of me.. oh well.Here are some maternity glamour shots, I am a little embarrassed, but here goes:Livy, we are excited to be your parents and are ready for you anytime.
