Hey Family,
Just thought we'd give you an quick update on how things are looking with our baby Brigham. Becca will be 32 weeks on Thursday, but is currently measuring a few weeks ahead of that. Because Brigham cannot swallow very well, this has caused her internal fluid levels to increase quite dramatically. Last week, she had a procedure done, called "Amniocentesis", where they basically inserted a needle inter her belly and extracted 2 liters of fluid out. Becca went back to the doctor on tuesday and most of the 2 liters that was removed had already come back. Given how things are looking, we'll most likely go in for a 2nd Amnio procedure next week.
At this point, "TIME" because an interesting variable. The more time goes-on, his body does continue to grow. However, his condition also continues to become more severe, increasing the likelihood of him passing in-utero. Also, Becca's health is at considerable risk due to the high fluid levels. Based on the feedback from our Doctors, and in consideration for Becca's and Brighams health, we are planning to be induced on the morning of July 16th.
We are praying that we can spend as much time with him as humanly possible, even if it be a few hours. However, we've learned along this journey that so much of it is out of our hands.
We are so grateful for all of your love, support and kindness shown to our family during this time, surely a summer to remember. Brighams life on earth will be a short visit, but his spirit will live with our family forever.
We are going to be doing a "CABBAB" night -- Celebrating Awesome Briggs by Ballin' and Burgers for FHE on Monday, July 13th at 6 pm. We'll be at Lions Park in Provo (950 W. 1280 N in Provo) which is pretty close to our house. We'll have a grill there so bring some meat and a side to share if you can. We'll bring some games for the kids and maybe play kickball or baseball at the diamond there. This will hopefully help us gear up for the week ahead.
This pregnancy has definitely been a roller coaster and now that it is ending, our emotions are becoming closer to the surface. Hard to know what will play out and hard to know that he will come and go so fast. He is our son and will always be ours and we are praying that through it all we can find some peace and comfort in knowing he is with our Heavenly Father.
Thanks again for all your love and support and especially all of your prayers.
Love,
Adam and Becca
